On June 14, 2019, the Governor of Lubusz issued the final two sites for the Polish gas pipeline project, “Golenio-lwowek Natural Gas Pipeline Construction, DN1000”. The decision, together with the decision issued by the Governor of West Pomerania on May 15 and 17, 2019, constitutes a set of documents related to the implementation of this project.

The construction of the golenio-lwowek gas pipeline is one of the five projects of the Polish Baltic pipeline project. The gas pipeline is about 191 kilometers long, with a nominal diameter of 1000 mm and an operating pressure of 8.4 MPa.

The pipeline will be built along the current Goleniów-Lwówek gas pipeline. It will pass through three provinces: West Pomerania, Lubs and Greater Poland. It will cover 15 cities: Goleniow, Maszewo, Stargard, Dolice, Przelewice, Pelczyce, Strzelce Krajenskie, Zwierzyn, Santok, Rain, Skwierzyna, Przytoczna, Pszczew, Miedzychod and Lwowek.

The project aims to ensure that more natural gas is collected from the Baltic Subsea gas pipeline and the Swinoujscie LNG terminal. The implementation of the project will also be a key part of the North-South gas corridor.

The Baltic Pipeline is a project of Polish gas transmission operator gazo-system working closely with Danish gas and power transmission system operator Energinet. This means creating new ways to supply natural gas from Norway to the Danish and Polish markets as well as to neighboring countries. Once implemented, the project will strengthen energy security in Poland and throughout Central and Eastern Europe and increase the competitiveness of the Polish natural gas market.
